As i said, you'll need to launch gta 5 with fraps off, in order to enable the steam overlay if you want fraps with the steam overlay, you need to open fraps after gta 5 has open with steam overlay i created a bat file that would close fraps and reopen in 60 seconds within those 60 seconds, gta 5 + steam overlay would've been open. "add non-steam game", select gta5, see it in library, rightclick, "add shortcut to desktop" and you're done i understand how to add non-steam games but it doesn't work doing it this way with gta v retail, it closes the overlay once the game is launched.

Well i got gta 5 for couple days now steam version , but for some reason steam overlay not working so to talk with friends shift+tab not working i have to all tab game anyway to fix the problem ? ty. Hello all, i've been having issues with steam overlay not working in gta v these last few days. i can't recall installing anything new to cause ths issue. it works on my laptop, i don't have fraps, msi afterburner (or any similar programs), any recording programs on, i have the same anti-virus as my laptop, i even tried removing my anti-virus just to see, reinstalling steam and i've had no luck..
